Simon Field | Deep color, savory, slightly roasted aromas, loganberry and spice, Provençal herb and hints of shoe polish. Palate dries worryingly, with little hope of redemption, and a rather miserable finish. | 85
Andrew Jefford | Saturated opaque black-red in color. Dense, composty, faintly yogurty aromas: Did the Drosophila suzukii get down as far as the Languedoc in 2014? This wine smells like it might have a touch of acid rot. But this is only a note among many, and overall this wine has both sweetness and freshness. In the mouth it is sweet, structurally light to midweight, amply fruity, but again I have some qualms about the consistency and uniformity of success of the ripeness in this vintage. It has more depth than some of its 2014 peers. It is in fact good wine but from a difficult year, and I wouldn’t keep it long. 2018–20. | 85
Jancis Robinson | Dark, dense garnet. First bottle quite volatile. And the second. Pinched palate. Shame. | 82
