Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Bright and beguiling aromas of some leafiness—but the leaf is cured tobacco, so there is a fermentative sweetness and savoriness to it, a resonance, a richness. Very attractive. Indeed, even on the palate there is a sweetness and a richness; this is dense and concentrated for the vintage. The green of the year is still there in the heart of the sweet richness—an enigma, somehow, that you often see duplicated in 2014. But this is a terrific effort for the year from an “off-the-croupe” or “lesser” site. 2018–23. | 89
Michael Schuster | fine, densely ripe fruit to smell—blackcurrant core sweet; lovely mid-weight balance, rich, vital, finely tannic; concentrated, brisk, and juicy, with a fine, ripe Cabernet fruit core, a nice complexity, length of flavor, and excellent aromatic persistence. Stylish and complete St-Estèphe. Very good indeed. 2024–32+. | 90
