BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black-red. A straightforward aromatic profile of just-ripe currants in earthy style. The wine is curranty and straightforward, with slightly better ripeness than some of its peers; there are no green tones here. There are soft tannins to shape the fruit and the acidity is not overly dominant; all it lacks for a higher score is density, concentration, and precision. It might offer good value for early drinking. 2018–22. | 88

Michael Schuster | Youthful, savory Cabernet to smell; medium-full, brisk, firmly tannic, a firm constitution; chewy, ripe red-fruited Pauillac, to accompany rich stews to take the edge off its tannins; tasty, lesser Pauillac. 2023–30. | 88
