Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Rather clumsy aromas of baked red fruits, blood, and spices; even a touch of resin. In the mouth, this has the usual high acidity of the vintage bonded to ripe blackcurrant and blackberry fruit of sweeter style than many of its peers. There is mid-weight, attractively defined tannin, and the lack of purity suggested by the wine’s aromas is not apparent on the palate. An accessible, unforbidding mid-weight, in sum, with fair breadth and depth for the vintage. 2018–23. | 89

Michael Schuster | Faint farmyard... Otherwise fine, finely gravelly, subtle in youthful aromas; medium-full, fresh, and very fine-textured in tannin, a lovely, harmonious, youthful balance; long, even, elegant, graceful flavor, tenacious to taste, finely aromatic, complex, complete, and very refined, even if still very youthful, and with excellent length of aftertaste; stylish, classy, complete, an excellent second growth. A superbly defined expression of the commune, with a lovely sweet fruit core. Needs time, but this will be very good. 2030–45+. | 93
