Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red in color. Cool, fresh, faintly leafy aromas, bonded with soft-focus blackcurrant: fresh and attractive. Light and graceful now, though the wine’s lack of mid-palate drive means that it is best consumed in the short to mid-term. There’s a savory finish, and it has admirable fresh classicism. 2018–23. | 88
Michael Schuster | Ripe and gently gravelly to smell (very “claret”); very nicely balanced, concentrated, fresh to lively in acidity, finely firm in tannin; long and even, still slightly youthfully raw, but complex, ripe, savory, and persistent. This will be excellent medium- to long-term St-Julien. 2026–36+. | 91
