Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Creamy, fresh, and fine-grained blackcurrant, orange peel and bergamot; lot of aerial lift and charm here. It’s a much deeper and more concentrated wine than the Petit Lion, with driving, searching acidity perfectly bonded to the blackcurrant and redcurrant flavors. There’s not a trace of green anywhere. It’s firmly structured, making for long-term balance. A wine of authority and classicism, and very true to the vintage. 2018–25. | 89
Michael Schuster | A discreet blackcurrant and cedar nose; medium-full, lively in acidity, fine in tannin, but still youthfully austere; crisp and flavory Left Bank claret of modest complexity and good, light length. Needing a few years yet. 2024–34. | 89
