Andrew Jefford | Saturated dark black-red in color. Intriguing if slightly unusual aromas: plenty of fruit, but with a sense of mixed ripeness and a tomato-leaf note. A little bit undigested, aromatically speaking. On the palate, it is a combination of very ripe black-cherry notes with some others that didn’t quite get there—so again a little unharmonious as yet. But on the plus side this has real concentration and depth, from evidently low yields, so it can allow itself a year or two to settle down in bottle. An exciting wine. 2019–23. | 88
Michael Schuster | Ripely fruited nose; fullish, crisp, finely if slightly drily tannic; a sweet fruit flavor here, a certain amount of fat and flesh behind the lightly tannic frame; easy and enjoyable if limited in complexity and length. A very nice, freshly ripe mouthful. Now to 2030. | 88
