Andrew Jefford | Very dark black-red. This is earthy and forceful, with lots of purposeful spice—but the wine still has the green cast of the vintage. Nonetheless, you sense there is a resource and thrust here that some of its peers don’t have. A little more oak than they have, too. Deep and resourceful on the palate, with ample ripe black-cherry fruit and a little palpable tannin; the vintage asserts itself toward the end of the palate. Nonetheless, this is a notable effort among its peers, and will provide fine medium-term satisfaction. 2018–23. | 88
Michael Schuster | Sweetly cassis ripe to smell; rich, fresh, quite firmly tannic (new oak marked) medium-full wine; plenty of ripe and juicy fruit within the moderately tannic frame; an attractive fruit core of moderate complexity and good length; satisfying without being particularly complex; a noticeable tannin on the finish, a dry texture that will doubtless be absorbed with time, but its generosity of fruit is its principal appeal. 2022–32+. | 90
