Andrew Jefford | Saturated deep black-red. Very ripe aromas of dimpled plums, raisins and treacle; a smoky edge, too. Attractive and enticing in its own way. Lively and energetic, with ample dark, ripe-fruit flavors, generous tannins, and tight-drawn, lean- line acidity. An almost balsamic intensity here, and a bitter finish. Impressive wine, but rather a challenge to drink. 2018–24. | 85
Michael Schuster | Softly rich ripe fruit to smell; medium-full, fresh to lively in acidity, firm in tannin; but a certain amount of fruit fat here, a gentle generosity, though the alcohol impinges a bit as a “hardness” and the tannin is certainly marked; a nice fruit length, but who knows quite how this will age? Wait a few years, and cross your fingers! 2024–35+. | 88
