Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. There is surely some mixed ripeness here: fresh fruit, but with a compost or mown-hay edge. White pepper, too. This is a concentrated wine with intense, soft fruits but the mixed ripeness/compost-like style does give me pause. There’s a huge amount to enjoy, but I would drink sooner rather than later. 2018–21. | 86
Michael Schuster | New-oak and ripe-fruited nose; a freshly ripe constitution very marked by its new wood tannin; a light, fine, fluid flavor, dominated by its dry wood-tannin texture. Structure dominates fruit. Food will mitigate the dry feel, but I’m not sure this will ever give much real wine pleasure, not if you are sensitive to tannin, anyway. 2023–30? | 86
