Stephen Brook | The apricot and mandarin aromas are somewhat reticent, which is surprising for Doisy- Védrines, which is among the richest of Barsacs. Sweet and velvety on the palate, this may lack a little concentration but has welcome acidity and piquancy. The focus is on elegance rather than power, and the balance is excellent, which should ensure a long life. Admirable length, with a hint of pineapple on the finish. | 92

Andrew Jefford | Clear mid-gold. There’s a little mintiness here to freshen the sweet, floral notes; fine liquid flower honey, too. Fresh and lively Doisy-Védrines, as was the second wine. Some gingery finesse, too. On the palate, this is tangy, vivid, and close-grained, with lavender honey, vanilla, ginger, and tarte tatin notes. Elegant and chic. 2018–26. | 90
