Stephen Brook | There’s charm and vivacity on the nose, which is a fusion of stylish oak and aromas of apricot and pineapple. Juicy and velvety, this is unusually broad and plump for Rayne, but it’s hedonistic and direct. Good acidity marks the attack, yet it’s not quite sustained onto the finish. A fruity, unctuous, and exuberant style, it may not be for very long cellaring, but it has immediate appeal, balance, and length. | 92

Andrew Jefford | Glowing mid honey-gold. Mid- to full gold, with quiet, restrained aromas of honey, lemon, crème anglaise, and gentle pineapple. It’s in a quiet phase at present, but promises complexities later. Tangy, rich, generous, creamy, with some lemon and pineapple to balance out the gratifying clover- honey sweetness. This needs time to unlock its full articulate range. 2018–28. | 92
