Alison Buchanan: Pretty mid-amber in color, this offers grilled citrus fruit and toast on the nose—bread and butter pudding, rich in dried fruit and candied peel. There is vitality here, an upbeat energy that supports the innate opulence of the wine, citrus and orchard fruit complementing raisined intensity—harmonious in bittersweet aromatics on both the nose and palate—poised and rather elegant throughout a protracted, layered finish. | 89

Andrew Jefford: Light amber-red in color. Light-dressed toffee scents: simple but pleasing. That just about sums up the palate, too: a tasty and generous glass of sweet fortified wine, with plenty of light toffee character. | 84

Margaret Rand: On the dry side, relatively linear and withatouch (only a touch) of bracing austerity. Not actually austere, just not over-opulent, and austere and quite light for a PX. Savory, figgy fruit, good acidity, a streak of orange peel. Christmassy flavors, with a hint of tinsel in the acidity. | 92
