Simon Field | Vestigial warmth from a generous vintage; spice and hints of raspberry compote; the palate is more challenged, unresolved, intriguing, and strangely beguiling... Time is on its side. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red, though now clear, with no opacity. Scents of both red fruit and wet grass and hay, but not unattractive; indeed, the hay component is very sweet and diverting, with wildflower touches. The palate is deep and long, with some concentration and lingering firm tannins. It’s a more ambitious wine than [Domaine Yannick Amirault La Petite Cave Bourgueil 2010], with greater thickness, richness, and depth, though not quite the same purity of fruit style. A good contrast, though, and I would enjoy tucking into both of them. | 89
Charles Metcalfe | Savory, evolved, from a warm, sunny year. This has savory, mature aromas and a ripe, firm feel. It’s good drinking at present and could probably hold for a little while, but it is at its peak. However, it’s an excellent demonstration of how Cabernet Franc can perform and evolve in a warm year. | 90
