Simon Field | Herbal development, with hints of roasted meat; the fruit and savory notes held in suspension by finely etched tannins and unforgiving acidity. Nice palate definition, however, and definite gastronomic potential. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Clear black-red. Still lively and fresh, with lots of tea-leaf and tea-caddy charm. Vivid and fresh on the palate, too, thanks to its tannins and brisk profile, but in fact there is a sweetness and warmth to the fruit that takes me aback a little: ample, mouth-filling, sappy, even rich. Once again I wouldn’t keep this wine any longer, but there is a huge amount to enjoy in its generosity, fullness, and wealth, all of which are unusual in this tasting. Well done. | 90
Charles Metcalfe | Grassy, almost asparagus aromas from the cooler year. Flavors do have fruit as well, moving from fresh- to dried-fruit characters. Tannins are still firm, and acidity highish. This seems quite high in alcohol for a cool year, and the fruit tends toward pruniness. A slightly uneasy combination of grassy flavor and pruny fruit. | 83
