BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | An unassuming rather sooty color; the nose similar... Complexity born out of tension; eucalypt, cassis, black tea, and a whisper of salinity. Sappy but elegant tannins, noble acidity, and a charming chalky grip on the end. | 91

Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red. A strange, rather sherbetty scent, or perhaps like a fruit soup; not unattractive, though. Some oak, too, brings clove and Christmas spice. Tangy, rather hard palate, however. More concentrated than some of its Anjou peers, but unalluring in style. | 83

Charles Metcalfe | Evolved, developed, and slightly oxidative aromas. Palate has high acidity, with notes of volatile acidity and little body. Tannins are still present, but development has gone a little too far, and this is not really recommendable. | 74
