Peter Richards | Tobacco, dried fruit, and toffee-apple aromas. Lifted and inviting, quite plush in feel. A touch of meaty brett character creeping in. Wonderful energy, intensity, and harmony here. Layered, complex, a brilliant blend of the savory and the sweet. Fine, firm tannin and well-judged acidity sustains it all. Hints of forest floor and truffle. Complex, energizing, almost exponential finish. Tremendous stuff. | 94

David Williams | Some attractively truffly fruit on the nose and a ruffle of very dry tannin on the palate; still some life here, though, with layers of flavor and a certain suaveness of texture and perkiness. Just a slight feeling of alcoholic heat as the fruit has faded, but of real (and much more than historical) interest. | 91
