Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Jean-Charles Cazes and his team have hit the jackpot in their first vintage. The wine exhibits such bright and refined texture that it made us prefer it to the Lynch-Bages. It is in a style that is a little more bold and vigorous than in the past, better showing off the potential of the old vines. | 94
Michael Schuster | Light Cabernet Sauvignon fruit to smell, withatouch of mineral; fresh, elegant mid-weight, firmly but finely tannic; gently juicy, sapid, long to taste, floral in aromas, but lightly gravelly, too, very nice length of flavor and good persistence. A slightly more muscular expression of the terroir (a bit more “Pauillac” that is?) than that made until 2016 by François-Xavier Borie of Grand-Puy- Lacoste. 2025–35+. | 89–91
