Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | As is often the case, it is hard not to marvel at the immediate harmony and fullness of this unsurpassed expression of the potential of this vintage—at least when tasting at the château. Only Latour seems capable of bearing the comparison. Tasted twice. | 96
Michael Schuster | Tight, dense, finely gravelly nose; moderately full, fresh, very finely tannic, a lovely, relatively supple balance; very ripe in fruit, marked in gravelly aromas, gently fleshy, lovely length of flavor, effortless, long to taste, long and mineral- fragrant to finish. A most seductive, rather than a “grand” Las-Cases: classy, restrained, and delicious—beautiful wine. Indeed, with Le Petit Lion, this is a beautiful, polished, classic pair. 2027–42+. | 93–94+
