Michael Edwards | In the hands of a new winemaker, this wine is very much on the up in 2016, a vintage in the classic, detailed style under warm but not torridly hot skies as in 2015: du Py hillside rightly regarded as the finest site in Villié-Morgon. Vermilion- purplish color, limpid, not overextracted. Typical cherry rather than violet aromas and a deep, serious palate, plums and ripe tannins, which some call Burgundian, but this is really fine Morgon, sui generis, and worth aging for at least three years. Great value. | 90
