Bruno Besa | Deep garnet to pink. Clean, intense, mature small black-fruits nose, with road tar and dried rose petals. Medium to full body, clean and rich fruit finishing quite long yet a touch simple. | 89
Stephen Brook | Zesty nose, with a hint of fresh herbs and plenty of raspberry and redcurrant fruit. Rich and firm, nicely concentrated, with ripe tannins and some depth of fruit. There’s acidity and spice to enliven the palate. A wine of fruit more than finesse, but none the worse for that. Ample grip on the finish, which is energetic and long. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Dark, glowing black-red. Lovely aromas: a teasing warmth, a fine, qualified, unspecious sweetness, nuts and fruit, all finely layered and drifting out of the glass like mist off a lake in September. Very refined, pliant, ethereal. On the palate, this is excellent wine, too: stealthy to open, then growing through the mouth and finishing with all the firm sobriety and gravity one could wish for. It seems smooth, since the tannins are very finely managed. There’s an admirable repertoire of secondary complexities, too, evoking mushrooms, old libraries, late autumn’s demise. Grand. | 94
