BUY THE WINE

Jesús Barquín | Deep, almost opaque cherry. Tight and concentrated nose, with mineral notes and a background of chicken broth. The palate opens to reveal red berries, but mostly it remains too tight. Severe tannins detract a little on the finish. | 90

Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black-red. Warm, earthy scents (a touch of reduction in here) with some shy black fruits behind. Lively, vivid, fresh, earthy—a dark black mole of a wine, but very satisfying. Needs another 18 months in bottle ideally to shake itself down toward aromatic purity, but what’s on the tongue is delicious, concentrated, structured, and long: very good. | 91

Richard Mayson | Deep, nearly opaque and very youthful in color, crimson rim; attractive if restrained berry and capsicum fruit, a touch floral; ripe berry fruit baked by firm tannins, fresh, sappy, and well balanced, withatouch of peppery spice on the finish. Still in its first bloom of youth, with the potential to age. Very satisfying. | 88
