BUY THE WINE

Alex Hunt | Polished brass sort of color. Quite rich on the nose, with a nice hint of sparky sulfide character. Apple and blackberry aromas are consistent with the blanc de noirs style. Even if it’s not the most complex wine, I have to commend this for its finesse and completeness: There’s no undue tannin or contrived flavor. Before tasting, my reaction was, “Why?” Afterward, I’m thinking, “Why not?” | 85

Andrew Jefford | Mid-gold with the faintest hint of pink. Scents of yeast and grain; pleasant and softly sweet. Rather weighty on the palate but has lots of sheer orchard-fruit drop to it, and recognizably varietal to anyone who has tasted Pinot sparkling- wine base. A worthwhile white, I think, and a white wine of interest. | 83

Anthony Rose | Yellow gold in color, an oddity that smells of Pinot, with its berry-like perfume, and if you close your eyes it even tastes like it, with attractively fresh berry-like fruit that’s nicely textured, with some intensity, although obviously emphasizing acidity rather than any tannic grip to speak of. | 88
