Alex Hunt | Sappy-jammy currant aromas: fresh but a bit confected. Nice juicy structure in the mouth, but these flavors pull in opposite directions, and the finish ends up hollow, slightly bitter. | 81
Andrew Jefford | Dark, purposeful black-red. Bottle 1: TCA. Bottle 2: Quiet and rather recessive scents; a sense of subdued, plummy fruits. A little deeper than most of its peers on the palate; some rounded dryness, so purity and architecture of fruit. True, worthwhile Pinot, though without quite enough intricacy to win a high score. | 86
Anthony Rose | A deepish cherryish red in color, this is fragrantly berry-like on the nose, with a powerfully sweet opulent dark-cherry fruit quality whose firm muscle is still in adolescent phase, so it’s needing a year or two to soften down and show what it’s really made of. The oak is nicely blended in and the acidity fresh, so the potential is there, even if the power leaves an ever so slight burn mark on the back palate. Jury still out. | 89
