Alex Hunt | An inky style of Pinot, with plum, sloe, elderberry fruit and a certain tannic focus. The higher alcohol is lightly worn, and the wine is coherent from nose to finish. It’s a little severe, perhaps, but it has purity, personality, and conviction—and that goes a long way. | 88
Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Rather herbaceous, snipped hedgerow scents. The Chilean curse of grassiness spoils the fruit qualities in what might otherwise be a pleasant wine. | 79
Anthony Rose | Evolving to a herby garnet in color, this is a tad mute on the nose, with a curious touch of spritz on the tongue and rather astringent dryness on the palate, whose acidity is distinctly tart while the tannins behind the red-berry fruit rather envelope and coat the tongue in an iron-like grip that’s just a tad too dry and rustic for its own good, and the alcohol leaves a faint burn on the back palate. | 84
