Alex Hunt | Tarry, volatile nose. Rough and ready, with baked flavors and high VA, despite fine tannin and decent concentration. A shame. | 77

Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black red. Oddly varnishy Pinot fruit, ester-laden. The palate has a similar style, and the overall effect is certainly varietal, but not the “best of the varietal.” Smooth, deep, lively, but not pure or refined. | 82

Anthony Rose | Still youthfully bright and cherryish in color, this has an intriguing raspberry-fruits fragrance whose evolved character is adding complexing notes; and there’s an attractive opulent richness of raspberryish and mulberry-like fruit, with a fleshy textured quality whose tannins have nicely evolved and blended into a seamless fruit character just turning savory and almost balsamic, with a really attractive sweet and sour note and balanced suppleness of texture that’s quite beguiling. | 91
