Alex Hunt | Rather stinky, burned vegetable/ash nose. The palate is citrus-peel bitter and dominated by clove notes from the oak. Unlovely from start to finish. | 78
Andrew Jefford | An encouragingly pale Pinot. On the nose, this is into its secondary phase but has some charm and subtlety to it: warm and refined, oak-mingled, attractive and true if a little unfocused. It’s a light, sweet, tasty Pinot on the palate, but the excitement is swiftly over. | 83
Anthony Rose | Quite pallid and evolved in color, this shows notes of rose petal and cherry on the nose, while the palate surprises with an initially attractive sweetness of mulberry fruit framed by understated oak, and the juiciness of texture supported by the wine’s power lingers for a while before tapering gradually to a finish in which the tannins have softened into an appealing dry finish. Needs drinking sooner rather than later. | 88
