Stephen Brook: Classic Riesling nose, bracing, stone fruits, with a strong minerally, even slaty, element. Rich, quite full-bodied, abundant ripe fruit, all balanced by a fine, racy acidity that gives excellent length. A fine example of the style: ripe and harmonious but not at the expense of Riesling tautness and finesse. Impeccable. 18
Jancis Robinson: Low-key nose but tangy and refreshing. Relatively open and easy, though without great tension. An easy, early drink. Slightly hot finish. 14
Alexander Scott: Marginally riper than the Dautenpflanzer, though the style seems similar. But here there is far more cut and thrust on the palate. Piercing, penetrating, backward, classic. A somewhat intellectual style, but none the worse for that. 15.5
