Stephen Brook: Tangy nose, lime and pear drops, distinctly mineral. Richer than nose suggests, but with rather fierce acidity. This is out of balance, and I doubt the acidity will become more subdued and harmonious. Long, taut finish, but too aggressive for me. 12

Jancis Robinson: Broad and nutty nose. Then an unexpectedly high acidity and still some severity. Not for now! A little hard and exaggerated. 13

Alexander Scott: Ripe, almost honeyed. Great concentration and intensity. Some late-season apple character (St Edmund 's Pippin). Warmth and dryness at once. Palate-staining flavours and great length. Very fine. 17.5
