BUY THE WINE

Simon Field: Lifted and precocious on the nose, with violets and damsons to the fore. On the palate, the wine has structural integrity, real alcoholic weight and firmness on the finish to confirm quality. slightly heady, but good nonetheless. 16.5

Richard Mayson: Hot nose, tar and chocolate. Big, ripe and fleshy with broad tannins, but a bit lean and dusty on the finish. 13

Jancis Robinson: Purplish crimson, with blue highlights. Unusually floral nose. Big, broad, sweet hit and then a massive charge of fine, inky tannins. Slightly spindly but elegant. Refreshing level of acidity. A certain graininess of texture. 15
