Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Crimson colour, wide, honest raspberry nose, but not quite such broad, complex tannins as the other classed growths in this appellation or in Pauillac. 15
Margaret Rand: Closed, but with rich fruit underlying the substantial tannins. There’s enough concentration to bode well for the future. 17
Michael Schuster: Ripe fruit and subtle, gravel nose. Well balanced, richly fruity, finely tannic cru bourgeois. Ripe, supple, plump and juicy flavour, with a crisp, medium-length finish. A very satisfying cru bourgeois that will drink relatively early. Good value. 14.5+
