Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: One of the best second wines we tasted, in a year when complete wines in this category are conspicuous by their absence. This slender wine shows good fat and lovely maturity, and it finishes gloriously fresh. 15

Margaret Rand: Seems almost delicate, but there’s density underneath and a roasted spice note to the fruit. The finish is long and powerful. 17
