BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: A fleshy wine with a frank, ripe and nicely open nose, tasty tannins and good persistence. A complete, well-crafted Margaux and probably very long-lived. 16

Margaret Rand: Restrained tannins and bright, lifted fruit, together with a long finish, make this a very attractive wine. 16.5

Michael Schuster: Dense, ripe, oaky and extracted style, on both nose and palate. Plenty of ripe black-cherry fruit, fairly tannic. Good in its new-oak, new-wave style. 15
