BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Enchantingly delicate nose. A roundness that balances the Cabernet and Merlot without simplification or heaviness, and supremely delicate tannins. A touch more vinosity and it would be up there with the best of the super-seconds. 16.5

Margaret Rand: Serious, scented, roasted and supple; a very confident wine. The structure is firm and elegant, the balance is excellent, as is the length. Polished winemaking. 17

Michael Schuster: Light but clear Cabernet Sauvignon nose, fresh, mineral, vibrant; nicely balanced, elegant middleweight Margaux with a very fine, dry texture. Not super-ripe or rich, but with a graceful, even, delicately fragrant fruit and gently fleshy texture, long in the mouth, subtly minerally and with a fine, scented-fruit persistence. Not a trace of new oak as scent, flavour or texture – as it should be! fine Rauzan-Ségla; fine Margaux. 16.5
