BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Great colour and wonderfully expressive, with superb terroir definition and exquisitely pure violet and red-berry complex fruit. The palate structure is particularly impressive: full body, texture as velvety as it gets (which will come as a surprise to those who find the Léognans austere) and, above all, a sumptuous display of majestic, complex, blue-blooded tannins with vastly more innate breeding than those in most of the Right Bank wines. 18

Margaret Rand: Seems to lack stuffing. This may just be a phase. 14
