Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Intense colour. Powerful body, but withatight texture compared with the others. At this point, the finesse and complexity of aroma seem superior to the tannins – or at least more developed. 16
Margaret Rand: Tight but rich fruit, spicy and long. Fair tannins and great finesse. 18
Michael Schuster: Black purple. Concentrated, ripe cassis/ raspberry nose – fine, scented, persistent. Nicely balanced, rich, fresh middleweight, with, at present, a rather dry wood-tannin presence. Delicate, refined, ripe, mineral-backed fruit, long across the palate, subtle, refined and graceful, with a long, fragrant aftertaste. Complex, fine and relaxed, with much more finesse and sense of terroir than in de Neipperg’s La Mondotte. 16.5
