BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Supple but fleshy, with discreet fruit that nevertheless performs well, thanks to solid backing from upright, tasty tannins. 15

Michael Schuster: Ripe and minerally fruit to smell. Fairly rich middleweight, fresh and finely tannic; moderately complex, plum and cherry fruit, oak-spiced and with a nice density and good length. ‘Denis Durantou’s second wine’ (rather than the second wine of L’Eglise-Clinet – a distinction he likes to make) is a consistently reliable, attractive (and attractively priced) lesser Pomerol, from lighter soils than those of L’Eglise-Clinet itself. 15
