BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: This was a very clear wine and plainly recently filtered, to judge from the flatness of the aromas. A second sample was less opulent and showed less roasted character than the other first growths. Quite unlike the Nairac; the grapes that went to make this wine cannot have been fully botrytised. 11

Margaret Rand: Crisp and light, without much concentration. Nice apéritif wine. 14.5

Michael Schuster: Discreet, fresh, lemony nose. Elegantly balanced, fairly concentrated, medium-full wine, with a vivid acidity. Intensely sweet, very pure, linear; honey, lemon, mineral and botrytis-imbued spice flavour. Understated, classy, tenacious. Very fine. 17.5
