BUY THE WINE

Alison Buchanan: Intense black to a garnet/ tawny rim, this has a rather dull nose with some brooding, earthy, black fruit – rather subdued. The palate rather lacks concentration and focus, which, allied to rather dry, dusty tannins, makes for a wine that rather lacks charm. 13

Jancis Robinson: Red/garnet. Slightly ‘wet’ nose, some subtle fruit hints. Dark, gamey fruit, wet barrels following, a bit astringent on the finish, drying out. 14

Jeremy Watson: Good ruby colour, with well-balanced aromas of fruit and oak tannins that come through beautifully in the mouth to leave a lingering flavour. Good. 16
