Stephen Brook: Opaque red. Dumb nose, black fruits and a hint of jamminess without any unpleaseant stewed charcter. Very rich and dense, but there's some lack of purity here. It's a touch cooked and overwrought, and lacks a lightness of touch to blanace the mighty fruit. There's no lack of swagger but there's little finesse. Socks you in the jaw, thumps you on the back. In short a bit too assertive and effortful, at least at present. Quite long, but the finish is rather heavy. 15.5 /p>
Andrew Jefford: Dark purple-black. Full, rounded, though relatively artless, earthy blackcurrant scents. Soft, full, and accessible, this is a juicy Lynch-Bages for the medium term, full of the hallmark deliciousness of the cru, built on a core of ripe fruit but without the aromatic complexity and flavor density of the best. 15.5
