Oz Clarke: Attractive bright-red fruit and some depth – a sort of red plum and a little stewed rhubarb. Fair tannin. Quite full and deep, but it’s red fruit, not black. The tannin is evident and there is a bitter streak. It’s all right, but it isn’t thrilling. 15

Alex Hunt: Simple, fruity, concentrated, soft, slightly overripe, friendly but not-very-interesting blend. 14

Margaret Rand: A lot of tannins, and with a dry edge. Chunky fruit, cooked and foursquare. Burly wine, and not particularly distinguished. Finish not remarkable. Big, but size isn’t everything. 13.5
