Andrew Jefford: Dark colours, followed by almost shockingly vivid aromas of fresh- crushed damson fruit. Hugely generous on the palate, with snowdrifts of spicy fruit backed by ample soft tannin, melding to give a liquorice finish. Gorgeous style now, yet a fine cellar prospect, too.
