Neil Beckett: The most articulate, distinctive and fine of three very good Nuits premiers crus (the Clos des Argillières and En Rue de Chaux being more closed and monolithic at this stage). Still some red fruit here to streak the black, with a cranberry-like freshness and penetration, as well as juniper spice. Dense, medium- bodied wine, still with some flow and give, despite the resistance of the still substantial tannins. Good length – composed, harmonious and stylish.
