Andrew Jefford: Strikingly ‘southern’ aromas of fennel and hay, with rich, almost candied flavours of caramelised almond, vanilla and honeyed spice. Thick-textured, glycerous and full, this is one leading white premier cru from 2003 that comes close to justifying its high price.
