BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Oaky vanilla nose. The grape variety is lost under the wood. 12

Stephen Brook: Deep red. Sweet-cherry nose, a touch herbaceous but not unpleasant. Medium -bodied and supple, with light acidity. Simple and inoffensive but not much to it. Medium length. 13.5

Alison Buchanan: Deep black-garnet, with a garnet rim. Very sweet nose, and very spicy - cinnam on, fennel and liquorice alongside black-pudding notes and leather. On the palate, seductive, with a supple texture. Very perfumed, like an old lady. Lavender, violet and rose potpourri. This seems rather old-fashioned but dense. 13.5
