BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Wild-fruit character on the nose. Compared to others a little thin and lacking, though drinkable enough. 12

Stephen Brook: Deep red. Jammy nose, a bit cooked. Leather and tobacco. Soft, lush, rounded and fairly concentrated, but lacks vigour. Coarse tannins, but the palate is fresher than the nose. Sound but lacks excitement. Medium length. 14

Alison Buchanan: Slight garnet notes on the rim. Rather closed on the nose - slightly metallic and hints of black pudding. The palate is not very forthcoming, rather tight with quite austere, drying tannins. The texture is rich, but the structure is unforgiving. It could just be a need for extra time, yet the fruit is difficult to extract. Short to medium length - a bit dull, really. 10
