Michel Bettane: Fairly deep golden-straw colour, medium-fine bubbles. Rich, powerful nose with strong autolysis. Somewhat heavy, but well balanced and not overly dry, with a rounded velvety mouthfeel (Pinot Noir-dominated?). Aromas of glycerol or perhaps dosage. Strong terroir character (what I would call a trace wine). 13
Simon Larkin : Clear, bright pale lemon, lazy bead. Restrained aromas. Pleasing textural mousse. Not a broad style but rather more linear, with a crisp, slightly clipped finish. Lacks some aspect of purity for me. Nonetheless sound, with moderate length, 12.5
Anthony Rose: Coppery gold colour, tiny pinprick bubbles, slow-moving. A suggestion of some age on the nose, a light toasty character. Clean, dry, slightly apricot fruitiness. Fresh and crisp, almost-tart acidity giving good definition with a slightly rustic, almost-tannic edge to the finish, and a touch of phenolic coarseness. Drink-now style. 13
