BUY THE WINE

Simon Field: Ruby to garnet colour. Powerful nose. A shade foursquare on the palate, the wine is rather cumbersome, lacking definition. Notes of red fruit compote and a slightly ponderous finish. 12.5

Andrew Jefford: Mid-gamet-red, now clear and bright. Soft, jammy scents (cherry and plum) - pleasant. Rich, soft, sweet, satisfying. Sound depth; mid-length, warm-fruited finish. 12.5

Richard Mayson: Mid-deep centre, pink-purple rim. Rather sullen on the nose, perhaps going through a difficult adolescence. Fresh, peppery, black-cherry fruit on the palate and spicy tannins. Good middleweight wine with more to give. Better in three years. 14.5
