Simon Field: Attractive ruby-brick-road colouring. Fulsome, very complex nose, both extraordinarily fresh and incredibly complex. Dried fruits, raisins, power and spice - the cornucopia. The palate has sweetness, spice, freshness and superb supporting acidity. To grace the top tables, the clubs and everywhere else for that matter from now onwards - and it still has some way go. 18
Andrew Jefford: Well up to the colour benchmark for this flight, retaining plenty of red. Warm, enticing nose with some meatiness, some tea leaf and lots of dry cherry fruit. Vivid, lively, spiced. Choice, well ordered, tangy, holding well. The fruit notes are now beginning to mingle with the hillside herbs of senescence, but there is no sense of hurry. 16.5
Richard Mayson: Very good deep-garnet centre, withathin purple/pink/tawny rim. Wonderfully ripe, powerful black-cherry and bitter-chocolate fruit on the nose. Very fine, full, firm bitter-chocolate fruit with definition and great purity. Fruit tannins in balance with the whole - harmonious. Drink now and over the next 20 years plus. This combines power and elegance. 19.5
