Tim Atkin : Dense, mature, brick red/ruby in colour. Mature, savoury, chocolaty nose, good complexity. Palate rich and complex with well-used oak, good acidity, and sweet, minty fruit characters. The finish is a little dry and green. 16.5
Oz Clarke: Good red, just a hint of age. The nose is quite dense and rich. On the palate, this has really good texture. Good acid, good tannin, but above all, good rich texture. The fruit is deep and ripe but still has a solemn acidity and a wary tannin that tells you this wine isn’t a pushover. Nor is it. Rich red fruit with a hint of blackcurrant is never divorced from quite evident acid and tannin. The wine is fine wine for those of you who care about acidity and the ability of a wine to whet your palate in the presence of food. 17
Michael Schuster: Brick-edged black-red; dense, cedary, minerally Cabernet to smell; rich, full-bodied; firmly tannic wine; plenty of sweet ripe fruit surrounded by a very dry wood tannin; oak and added acid dominate and mar a very good-quality underlying fruit. 14
